My baby crawled around in the playpen as I was working 12-hour shifts in sanding floors as well as removing the wallpaper. Ha! All was starting to take shape, however there was still a long way to go. It would take the time, energy, and of course my favourite shopping experience for furniture to decorate this home. My three sons and me searched for hidden gems while at estate sales to keep my spending under control. Every week, we would walk through garage and estate sales on Thursdays and Saturdays buying a mixture of antique and brand new furniture. I then spent working on my projects out in the driveway. My first impression was like... that's when my desire to repair furniture was born. I continued to restore furniture long after we completed the renovation of our home. On the streets I was able to rent a tiny space and sold some items. In the end, I had numerous pieces that I did not think of a solution and my storage space was a mess. I held open houses in my home where one 000 visitors would pass through during a weekend. they could purchase anything on the ground level. Growing Days was created in this house. The business I was running was growing however my family was also expanding. It was essential to find the right balance for me. I wanted to be a mom and a successful business owner. Growing Days just seemed to work. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. While I was pleased with the direction that my business took, I felt like I had to take an occasional break. I took a break from making vintage furniture, and slowed down my pace to be at home to help my children. It was exactly the thing I needed. After a few minutes I began to hear my phone to ring. They wanted my help in interior decoration and home renovations. The majority of them were the ones who had strolled through my house during open houses for furniture! In the following months, I began to take on more clients, according to my own pace. In the end, I had many customers and was operating an enterprise of renovations to homes. If you'd have told me that this business that I started would become the basis of a television show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have laughed. In fact, I do laugh when I think about the idea.
