Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at the Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi later Romanian gymnastics coach, discovered Comaneci at just seven years old. She took part in the Romanian Junior Games and finished 13th. In 1970, she won the title. The first time she competed in an international meet in an preolympics junior event that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975, she won named the all-around Junior Champion. At her first competitive event in senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals aswell as one silver. She was the first woman to complete the reverse double salo of the bar with a parallel surface in the event she won American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment industry as a performer as figure skater. Together with her brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her journey into the entertainment business in her teens. She began her career when she joined her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling show of entertainment. These shows were ice skating events with theatrical shows.
